Running back LeSean McCoy was a standout for the Eagles before being traded to Buffalo in 2015. First-year head coach McDermott served as defensive coordinator (as well as being an assistant coach in other capacities) during an 11-year stint with the Eagles. Tackle Jason Peters, linebacker Nigel Bradham, cornerback Ron Brooks, safety Corey Graham, offensive coordinator Frank Reich, and defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz used to play/coach in Buffalo.

Per Bovada, the Eagles are the heavy favorites.
Buffalo Bills +4.5 (-110)
Philadelphia Eagles -4.5 (-110)
The Eagles are 7-6 in 13 all-time appearances against the Bills. These two teams last played during the 2015 season. It was the final win of the Chip Kelly era in Philadelphia.
The Philadelphia Eagles’ 2017 preseason schedule continues Thursday night with a game against the Buffalo Bills.
Tonight’s tilt marks the Eagles’ first home game at Lincoln Financial Field since the Birds beat the Dallas Cowboys in the final game of the 2016 regular season on New Year’s Day.
The outcome of this game obviously doesn’t matter, but this matchup still holds some intrigue. Tonight marks the potential debut of two of Philadelphia’s key new players: Alshon Jeffery and Ronald Darby.
Speaking of Darby, the player the Eagles traded for him won’t be suiting up tonight. Unfortunately, Jordan Matthews is dealing with a “week-to-week” chest injury.
Doug Pederson said he’s leaning towards playing the Eagles’ starters, including Carson Wentz, for only a drive or two. Matt McGloin will take over after Wentz is done due to Nick Foles still making his way back from an elbow injury. Ideally the first team units will have a strong showing before getting out of the game and letting the backups finish the night.
